About
Yannick Harter is a German media artist working across sculpture, installation, moving image, virtual environments and computational processes.
His work investigates how bodies, technologies and infrastructures shape one another, focusing on the ways contemporary technical systems produce new forms of perception, representation and material experience.
Drawing on medical imaging, digital reconstruction, simulation technologies and industrial fabrication, Harter examines the body not as a fixed biological entity but as something continuously mediated through images, data, feedback systems and technical environments.
His projects often move between physical and virtual space, translating processes such as scanning, modelling, circulation, regulation and machine perception into spatial and material forms.
Recent work explores the intersections of anatomical imaging, technical infrastructures and industrial materialities, addressing questions of embodiment, mediation and the increasing entanglement of human and technological systems.
Harter studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig (HGB Leipzig) and attended the Art Academy of Latvia in Riga, Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem.
His work has been presented internationally in exhibitions, festivals and residency contexts. Since 2017 he has been co-founder of THIS IS FAKE and is a founding member of the International Center of the Arts Petersberg (IKZP), both dedicated to collaborative and interdisciplinary artistic practice.
